Digital perm at Be@uty Brick Hair Art studio
I have a naturally straight hair and finally, my struggle between staying straight or going curly has ended. Last monday, I decided.
I researched about which salon I'd like to have my hair permed. My first choice was Tony and Jackey but then I came across blogs having positive reviews about BeautyBrick.
I've read blog posts about the services and price list of BeautyBrick. For digital perming, its only 3,300-3,500. For stra-curl, its 5000. (Cheaper than TnJ who gave me an estimate of
So we went there with my cousin. I didn't drive since I'm not familiar with the place. So we took the MRT, went down to Buendia Station, and from there we took a cab. BeautyBrick is located at 122 Jupiter St. Bel-air Makati near Red Ribbon and Top Grill. Should you have any questions or inquiry, kindly visit their Facebook page here.
Upon entering the Salon, all of the staff gave us a warm greetings. I was a little shocked honestly. Because this is the first time i was greeted by all staff in a salon as if I'm a vVIP. It was overwhelming. Then one of them asked me if I'm Ever. I said Yes.
They did the treatment. Washing my hair first, applying collagen, keratin etc. It's cool that they let you know what they're doing. Then they started curling my hair. Mr. Shin personally did mine. Cool right? BTW Mr. Shin is the owner and the only stylist in that Salon. He's very hands-on in terms of his clients. To correct those blog posts i read saying he's japanese; guys he's korean. 100%. I was able to ask him since I can speak nihongo a little. I learned from one of his staffs that his translator only understand japanese so that's the language they're using.
So back to our topic. My treatment started at 12 noon and lasted for 3 hours. I wasn't bored because I'm enjoying their japanese mags. I read a lot of them. Their fashion sense is much like of korea's.
When my perm is done, they proceed to blow drying and styling. Three staffs were doing it while explaining how to maintain my curls.
Here are some of the after-care:
•They said i can wash it the next day but remember to use conditioner alone (for 2 days). I can use shampoo on the third day.
•When drying, they don't recommend using
•In styling, i can use wax but only to apply it when my hair is completely dry. I can use mousse for wet-look effect.
•The Golden Rule: DO NOT COMB your digi-permed hair. You can do finger-comb only when its wet.
•TWIST once then SCRUNCH every time. Its better to do this while drying your hair. Remember. Twist it once. Don't twist then scrunch then twist again. Mr. Shin said once is enough. Trust the experts.
As for my hair products. I personally use Human❤Nature Shampoo and conditioner (Human♥Nature website) in Lush Vanilla. It doesn't dry my locks and leaves my hair smooth plus the vanilla scent! It makes me wanna eat my hair! Literally! Haha.
For styling, i am using Monea Curl defining milk hair lotion (watson's). Stylist Wonder Curling Wax (the Face Shop) and mix it with 1-2 drops of Vitress (watson's) since the wax is sticky. These products work best for me. I don't know if it will work for you too. Try to experiment!
